Research Project:
Knowledge practices and learning processes in software development effort estimation
My research project focuses on the practice of estimation in software development. We seek to answer the following research questions: How do estimation teams operate when estimating software development projects? And how do the team members use their knowledge and earlier experience in practice when estimating?
We are applying a socio cultural perspective as basis for studying knowledge practices and learning processes in estimation of software development projects. The project is interdisciplinary and educational research forms the foundation.
The goal of the research project is to gain a better understanding of how estimation processes are structured, negotiated, and accomplished within multi-specialist teams.
