Research Interests
My main research interest is in Network Architectures. In particular I take interest in how routing functions, network topologies, and strategies for buffer management influence on network performance, fault tolerance and Quality of Service. In the past I have worked in formal methods in general, and term rewriting in particular.
I am a co-inventor of LASH (Layered Shortest Path Routing) that is implemented in the OpenFabrics Enterprise Distribution (OFED). I am also a co-founder of the startup company Resiliens.
Teaching and Supervision
I have supervised 10 finished PhD students, many more master students and lectured university courses at all levels. The supervision is done at Simula Research Laboratory, whereas I do lecturing at the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo.
