On Thursday Dec 11 in Storstua, immediately following the SC department meeting (14:00?), Dominik Bartuschat will present his previous work on edge-preserving denoising of CT images using K-SVD. This algorithm is an efficient method for designing overcomplete dictionaries for sparse representation of signals. Dominik will also talk about implementation of K-SVD on the Cell processor, aiming at performing the denoising in close to real-time.
Dominik received his Master's degree from the University of Erlangen in Germany, where he belonged to the research group of Ulrich Rüde. For the time being, Dominik is working as a scientific programmer in Kalkulo.
