 al is calcium ions. The topic of the workshop was on this intra cellul
 ar calcium signalling. Specifically\, the focus was on the early phase
  of the rocess\, called the calcium induced calcium release\, where a 
 small influx of ions trigger a much larger release from internal compa
 rtments. Both the phenomenon itself and the modeling of it was discuss
 ed.
