Multiphase Flow - Creating Industry Tools
Abstract:
In the oil industry, multiphase flow occurs in wells and transport lines for most gas-oil fields. The ability to compute the pressure-drop, production rates and requirements for processing equipment is vital for both planning and operating a gas-oil field. OLGA (OLje og GAs) is the leading simulation software for simulating transient phenomena in multiphase flow. In this talk we will discuss
- The physics behind multiphase flow and modeling challenges
- Numerical challenges solving the mathematical models
- Coding challenges when creating Industry Tools
