Simula appoints Kyrre Lekve as new Deputy Managing Director

Kyrre Lekve is appointed Deputy Managing Director of Simula Research Laboratory. He will assume the position 1 February 2015, moving from his current job as Deputy Director at NIFU (The Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education).

“I look forward to working with some of the strongest research groups in the country, and hopefully contribute to further develop Simula,” says Lekve. He is a former Deputy Minister for the Minister of Research and Higher Education, and holds a PhD Degree in Biology from the University of Oslo with additional education in political science and leadership.

“Kyrre Lekve has an excellent background and extensive expertise on research and education policy that will be a valuable addition to Simula. At Simula we always look for candidates that can improve the lab and Lekve is definitely in that category. We look forward to having him on board and to collaborate with him in developing the laboratory further,” says Managing Director Aslak Tveito.

Lekve will replace Ottar Hovind, who has been 8 years with Simula, serving as Deputy Managing Director in the centre. As part of his role, Hovind has been in charge of the commercialisation activities. He will now strengthen this focus area further as he takes on a new role as Director of Business Development and continuing as key member of the management of the laboratory.
