Simula Innovation company receives funding from prestigious EU scheme
Celerway works on developing fast and secure solutions for home networks and network access for mobile phones. When the pandemic hit, connectivity became of paramount importance, proving the importance of Celerway's routers in making it faster and safer to work from home. In its reasoning, the EIC Accelerator panel said they believed in this solution.
Celerway Communications was established in 2012 by Audun Fosselie Hansen. Hansen founded the company while working at Simula. Simula has remained an owner of the company since the beginning and now holds an 18.2% ownership in the company through Simula Innovation.
EIC Accelerator is funded through the EU's framework program for research and innovation, Horizon Europe. The scheme supports individual small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to develop and scale-up game-changing innovations. The funding from EIC Accelerator goes to pioneering innovations with large, international growth potential and with a significant positive effect on the environment and society. Celerway received a grant of a total of NOK 25 million towards further developing the technology.
