The AI4EU project, of which Simula is part of, has launched its platform.
AI4EU is the European Union’s landmark Artificial Intelligence project, which seeks to develop a European AI ecosystem, bringing together the knowledge, algorithms, tools, and resources available and making it a compelling solution for users. Involving 80 partners, covering 21 countries, the €20m project kicked off in January 2019 and will run for three years. AI4EU will unify Europe’s Artificial Intelligence community. It will facilitate collective work in AI research, innovation and business in Europe. By sharing AI expertise, knowledge and tools with the Platform, AI4EU will make AI available to all.
By coordinating the work of eight industrial pilots with the AI4EU platform, Simula Research Laboratory occupies a privileged place to support the platform development and exploitation. Eight application domains are targeted, including EU citizenship, robotics, manufacturing, healthcare, media, agriculture, IoT, and cybersecurity, which will lead to advanced exploitation usages of the platform in different contexts. Simula is also involved in the quality assurance process of AI assets to be collected, which lies in the expertise range of the Certus team, and the community-building activities of the platform.
The platform officially opened on September 30th, 2019, with collaborative functions to mobilize the European AI ecosystem. The platform can be accessed through https://www.ai4eu.eu/
