Martha Norberg Hovd among Norway’s Top 50 Women in Tech

Published:

We are proud to announce that our colleague, Martha Norberg Hovd, has been recognised as one of Norway’s 50 leading women in technology by Abelia and the Oda Network. This award highlights women who have made important contributions to the technology sector and serve as role models for future generations.

Martha is one of the first Norwegian women to earn a PhD in cryptography, and has achieved international recognition, including publishing in several top-tier conferences. Her research focuses on the security of advanced asymmetric cryptographic primitives, with an emphasis on fully homomorphic encryption, and she continues to contribute to the field as a postdoctoral researcher at Simula UiB.

She currently holds a position at the National Security Agency and serves as the program chair for the upcoming ArcticCrypt 2025 conference, further solidifying her role as a key figure in the cryptography community.

Beyond her academic achievements, Martha is an active science communicator and advocate for women in technology. She has been invited to speak at Oda Network events, participated in panel discussions on gender equality in tech, and given lectures on cybersecurity and preparedness for organizations such as the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO).

We extend our warmest congratulations to Martha and all the other outstanding women on this year’s list!
