Financing

There is no registration fee for the course. It is expected that students will find funding for travel to Oslo and San Diego through their home institutions/research groups, but travel grants are available to those with exceptional need. Accommodation for enrolled students will be arranged and provided free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE:
Accommodation - covered for students that must travel long-distance to the summer school, not for those that live locally. For example, students from Oslo will not receive paid accommodation for the June portion of the course but will receive paid accommodation for the August portion of the course in San Diego, USA.
Meals - the majority of meals will be provided free of charge. However, students should expect to cover the cost of approximately one meal (lunch or dinner) per day during the Oslo portion of the course. All meals are included in San Diego..

Visa requirements

Participants from North America will not require a visa to attend the June portion of the course in Oslo.

Norwegian and European participants may be eligible for the United States Visa Waiver program, ESTA, for the La Jolla portion of the course taking place in August.

Third-country applicants may require visas to attend both portions of the course.

PLEASE NOTE: It is the student's responsibility to apply for and acquire all necessary visas. Simula may be able to assist in providing some documentation needed for the application.
