Scientific abstract for this seminar:
Emerging Topics in Cyber Security

The rapid evolution of emerging technologies makes it increasingly difficult to stay informed on important security issues. This challenge is more prescient in the context  of current political instabilities, with increasing occurrences of malicious cyber-attacks levied at Norwegian companies and critical infrastructures. This seminar aims to improve the understanding of actual cyber security risks, moving the discourse beyond sensationalism to focus on substantial vulnerabilities that impact security and (potentially) national sovereignty. Through a combination of presentations and discussions, this seminar is designed to share new insights and expert opinions from Simula and other leading entities in the public and private sectors, making this information both accessible and actionable.

About the Simula Seminars

Simula's mission is to solve important and fundamental problems of science and engineering for the benefit and advancement of society.

Through this free seminar series, Simula explores big picture questions at the intersection of technology and society. Questions such as how to build systems and cultures that are actually secure, both now and in the quantum future, and how to combat malicious AI that can learn from and exploit vulnerabilities? By bringing together interdisciplinary contributors from academia, industry and the public sector, Simula aims to drive progress in a way that is beneficial for everyone.

This singular event was financed in part by the Research Council of Norway
